The epiphanies/re-epiphanies pages will be back soon but now I've been unhealthily ordering loads of music, too many but I just can't stop it!!
Let me just share with you some of what i'm anticipating to arrive and can't wait to pop them into my CD player(or read, cos 1 of them is a book):
1. Deathprod - Deathprod (An amazing 4 CD set by this Norwegian studio/live electronics wielder from Supersilent, the top improv/outer rock group from Norway and in all of Europe currently)
2. Patty Waters - Sings (An ESP Disk re-issue CD of 1 of the world's most powerful and idiosyncratic outsider jazzers/singers)
3. Pelican - Australasia (A new doom/drone metal band, without vocals but just pure power chords and pounding rhythms)
4. Corrupted - Llenandose de Gusanos (The power-crunching 2 CD set from 1 of this world's doomiest/sludgiest groups from Japan)
5. Diamanda Galas - Defixiones, Will & Testament (Another 2 CD set from 1 of modern music scariest/ blood curdling voices, be it male or female)
6. David Toop - Haunted Weather (Book) (Toop's newest on the current state of music creation, retailing and listening for suckers into modern music, Wire related stuff and laptop musos)
7. Wolf Eyes - Dead Hills (The hottest act in underground USA now, noisy and visceral to the max, just can't get enough)
8. Pan Sonic - Kesto (234.48:4)(The newest 4 CD set from this Finns, have to get it, cos I'm a fan, so 'fan' that actually spent $ to bring down to Singapore to perform 3 years ago)
9. Charlemagne Palestine - Schlongo!!!daLUVdrone (Underrated master of minimalism, only have 1 Cd by him so this is my 2rd)
10. Noxagt - The Iron Point (Love the group since their opus mgnus last year, metal with electric violin, just like VU back in the late 1960s)

Back again with the second installment of my epiphanies/re-epiphanies list (6-10):
6. Various- Amplify 2002: Balance - Yes, a monument definitely, with 7 CDs and 1 DVD of the festival of onkyo or new improv in Tokyo back in 2002, this will go down in history as one of the most important festivals/live releases in the annals of avantgarde music. If you want to know about the most cutting edge in improv, especially with regards to the Japanese scene like Sachiko M, Toshimaru Nakamura and Taku Sugimoto, this is heaven. Seasoned musicians like Keith Rowe and Gunter Muller were also present, making this an even more valuable treasured set.
7. Various- Improvised Music From Japan - Yes, I'm a sucker for Japanese shit and this is even more monumental than item 6. Avant folk, noise, laptop electronica, and avant shit of all nature are here. Otomo Yoshihide plus dozens of other Japanese avantgardeners sowing and reaping the fruit of musical exploration of the highest order. 10 CDs of brillant shit, no joke.
8. Keiji Haino - This Soul's True Love - He is the most brillant artiste of the 21th century and this 4 CD set reveals to us the roots of his musical vision, compiling his output in the 1970s, this is where it all started. His is my man!!!
9. Lightning Bolt- Wonderful Rainbow - This duo is simply amazing!!! With just a bass guitar and a trap set they created wall of noise heaven that blows metallers, punkheads and noise freaks away!!! Pure noise bliss!!!
10. Sightings- Absolutes- Can you imagine Einsturzende Neubauten meets High Rise, phewww...!!!
Misery loves company and music is the best cure...
