The last time I wrote I said see ya, maybe next year and true enough, only more than 6 months later am i able to follow up my previous blog... busy is an understatment... besides my draining day job and family commitments, my friend and I are setting up a record shop named Flux Us at Peninsula (next to Excelsior Hotel) soon, if you are into weird, avant, out-of-this-world shit drop by...
This year has been a pretty good year so far in music... my pick of the year:
1. Various - By The Fruits... You Shall Know The Roots, a brilliant 3 LP set featuring Six Organs Of Admittance, Jack Rose, EE & MV Medicine Show, Dredd Foole, Fursaxa and Kemialliset Ystavat with Joshua... I dare say this is the peak of the international explosion of free/psych folk which had been building up for the past 5 years...
2. Various (DVD) - Alchemism, Mr Jojo Hiroshige's noise label releases this top notched collection of videos and live footages of some of the top acts in Jap noise & psych: Hijokaidan, Angel' In Heavy Syrup, etc. Not many people have the luck to watch them (unless you play to Japan) so this is the best substitute.
3. Vibracathedral Orchestra - Pontiac Lady, out-of-this-world rambling English psychedelia on 3 CD-Rs... swirling, mind-bending, freaked out!!!

As you can see guitar shit of the heavier, freaked out, droney types are making a comeback big time this year in my aural universe, rock on man!!!
